Formed in 1991, the Michigan Association of Traffic Accident Investigators is an organization designed for investigators and reconstructionists from both the public and private sector, as well as other professionals who share an interest in the field of traffic accident reconstruction. The organization allows members to participate in a continual exchange of ideas and information and helps keep them current on changes taking place within this discipline.

MATAI has a membership of over 300 members. Most are from Michigan, however we have members in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. In addition, several reconstructionists from Canada and the United Kingdom are now members. MATAI has gone international.

Reference Points is the MATAI quarterly journal containing information from the Accident Reconstruction Journal, Accident Investigation Quarterly, UMTRI Review and other respected sources and is sent to all current members.

Please browse our site and check out our training and merchandise. We'll have information on upcoming conferences and other meetings around the state as it comes available.
